The short answer
Before choosing a monthly package, agree the goal, content, responsibilities and reporting. Content creation, profile management and paid advertising are different scopes.
Start with a business purpose
“We want a more active Instagram” describes an activity rather than its purpose. The aim might be to explain an offer, receive relevant enquiries or inform people about an event. Each calls for different messages and actions.
A restaurant, an event organiser and a specialist service business will not need the same plan. Write down your audience, what is unclear on the current profile and what someone should do after viewing the content.
Define what management includes
Management might mean scheduling finished materials, or it might include planning, writing, design, filming and replying to comments. These responsibilities should be written down before work starts.
- Which channels will be managed, and why?
- Who supplies photography and video, and how many shoots are included?
- Who writes and approves captions?
- Are publishing and profile updates included?
- Who replies to messages, comments and booking questions?
- Are advertising management and media spend separate?
Agree approvals before the first post
Content often stalls because nobody knows who should approve it. Choose a contact person, a place to review the plan and a way to collect edits. Verify dates, prices, locations and links before publication.
For events, plan for changes too. Someone needs authority to confirm a revised schedule and update the same information across channels. Clarify permissions for filming people and using materials with the people responsible for production.
Measure what relates to the goal
Follower counts alone do not show whether content helped the business. If the aim is enquiries, look at relevant messages and actions leading to contact. For an event announcement, visits to practical information and audience questions can be useful signals.
Agree a simple report: what was published, how people responded, what can reasonably be concluded and what changes next. Without reliable tracking, do not attribute every sales change to Instagram.
What connected event content can look like
The Alba Events case study shows our own event content: announcements set expectations, while photographs and recaps carry the atmosphere afterwards. It demonstrates a connected editorial direction without claiming unverified commercial results for a particular post.
When choosing a collaborator, look at real examples and ask what their role was. A useful first conversation matters more than a package filled with formats you may not need.
