The short answer
Describe the accommodation accurately, show practical information and clearly distinguish an availability enquiry from a confirmed booking.
Start with information that helps a decision
Guests need to understand capacity, layout and the facilities that matter to them. Explain what is included, where the property is and any limitations affecting a stay. A vague phrase such as “near the sea” should not replace verified information.
If you manage several units, give each one clear descriptions and photographs. Avoid a gallery that leaves people guessing which interior belongs to which apartment.
- Capacity, bedrooms, beds and bathrooms.
- Real photographs of interiors, exteriors and views.
- Accurate parking, access, equipment and facility details.
- Verified location and arrival information.
- A clear way to check availability and enquire.
Photography should explain the space
Show the main rooms and how they relate, not just decorative details. Clear labels and short descriptions help distinguish units. Images should represent the property's current condition.
Large files slow the mobile experience. Prepare appropriate image sizes and load galleries as needed. Video can add context, but essential information should be accessible without playing it.
Give Croatian and English their own space
Choose languages based on your actual guests. If the website uses Croatian and English, translate everything important to a decision: descriptions, facilities, contact and form confirmation messages.
Separate URLs and a clear language switcher make the site easier to use. Connect equivalent pages instead of returning visitors to the homepage whenever they change language. Add more languages when you can keep them accurate.
An enquiry is not a reservation
If a form requests availability, say it is an enquiry. Do not display “booking confirmed” unless availability and acceptance have actually been checked.
When using an external booking system, make the transition clear. Consistent availability and pricing information matter more than a complex calendar nobody maintains. Check applicable terms and required information with an appropriate professional for your business.
Test the route from a phone to a real enquiry
Walk through the whole process on a phone: find the property, view the gallery, check the location and send a test enquiry. Then verify that it reached the agreed inbox. An on-screen confirmation does not prove receipt.
Sync111 is based in Zagreb and develops website projects for businesses in Croatia. To discuss an accommodation website, send a list of units, existing materials, required languages and how you manage availability. A finished design is not needed to start the conversation.
